Wood Carving

Carved Huon Pine 'top cut'. This piece stands approx 600 mm high.
Obverse of the above carving.
Houn Pine 'top cut' or waste timber, the timber mill would use this wood to 'fire the boiler! This carving stands approx 1.2 metres high. Front view

Rear view of the above carving.
'Wood worm' Eucalyptus Polyanthemos or Red Box. This little caving stands approx 350 mm high.
A black & white photograph of a carving in HuonPine, again a 'top cut', great to carve. There's more to this carving so I'll post some more photos soon. The whole carving stands approx one metre tall.
A black & white photograph of the 'Water Dragon' This is carved from a piece of 'top cut' Huon Pine. I did a silicon rubber mould over this and went through the whole 'lost wax' process & produced ONE only of this in bronze. The bronze 'Water Dragon' fountain weighs approx 44 kilograms, and is hollow. Water dribbles from his mouth, flowing over his tongue & down over his claw, (the claw is on the bottom right hand side of the photograph.)
